Book Review

Who Killed the Homecoming Queen?

My first book review was from a series by R.L. Stine called Fear Street. This review is for the Fear Street book, Who Killed the Homecoming Queen. This time the book revolves around Junior or Senior Tania, who is voted homecoming queen. She is dating the most popular boy in school and is starring in a student’s video. Tania’s life seemed perfect, but not all is what is seems. When Tania’s friend sees Tania’s boyfriend, Sandy, making out with another girl she doesn’t know what to do. Leslie, a former homecoming queen, is jealous of Tania, deadly jealous……
I like the Fear Street books so naturally I like this one too. I like the plot and the ending. It was really suspenseful and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. The plot is nicely developed and the characters are like any high school kids; I could relate to them and if I were in a similar situation I would probably act the same way. They mystery was good. I recommend this book to mystery and horror lovers, and I give it a score of 9 on a scale of 1 to 10.

FEAR STREET

A REVIEW BY LUIS

For all of you mystery/horror lovers out there, have you tried any of R. L. Stine books (and no, not the Goosebump ones). Before he wrote the famous Goosebump series, he started out writing a teen horror series called Fear Street, which takes place in a small town called Shady Side. In Shady Side, there is a street in which everybody in town is afraid to go near. All sorts of strange things happen on Fear Street: cars disappear, screams are heard in the middle of the night from out of nowhere, and people who venture there are never seen again. In the first book of the series titled "The New Girl", which I currently reviewing, a teenage boy named Cory who attends Shady Side High School becomes fixated over the new girl in his class Anna. Ever since seeing her in the cafeteria, he can't get her out of his mind. He longs for her kisses. Anna mysteriously disappears. When Cory finds out that her family has moved into a house on Fear Street, he realizes he must go there to find out her secret. Is she alive or dead?

I recommend this book to all thrillers/mystery/horror lovers. Even though the plot could have been a little better, it did make me want to keep reading. R. L. Stine is a really good writer, so if you are a fan of his check out this book.  I give this book an 8/10 rating.
